A Holder of the Certificate:
Among Web site designers, I represent that group of programmers who already help to bring up their grandchildren, so you understand for sure that it is not easy to decide to do business in the area of designing Web presentations at this age. I have built several Web sites both with and without content administration. But I would blush if any experienced programmer looked at my source codes.
Unfortunately, three years ago I did not know what source code is and I did not attain a higher level than the amateur programming one in my spare time after work in the evenings. Unlike today’s successful young programmers, we who are older met with a diode illuminated display calculator at the most at their age. “This is an advantage that I can never eliminate,” I used to say to myself not long ago.
The path through attempts to design with editing systems, such as
Joomla, Mambo or RS2, did not give me tools by means of which I would have the courage to go into business in this field.
Those systems are bound by certain rules and uniformity from which it is hard to deviate towards some unusual customer requirements and I have always wanted to be able to meet customer wishes and not to be forced to compromise by some “machine” I’m not the author of and to
have control over my designing.
So those “compartmentalizing tools” were not any solution for me as well. I only glanced at PHP frameworks for the above mentioned reasons. When I was already acquiesced in the fact that I wouldn’t be an entrepreneur in the field of writing Web presentations, but that it might be sufficient for training to prevent early Alzheimer’s disease coming, I fortunately met with the page of this project.
The very video with instructions on the fundamentals of work in
Visual PHP captivated me. I had met with nothing of that kind during those three years of my wandering on the Internet. “Why did not anybody bring in this a long time ago?” I said to myself. I got Petr Kočí, the co-author of the project, without hesitation on the mobile phone. I still remember how he stopped his car because of me somewhere at a petrol station and we were talking long about “Vižla”.
I was won by his approach because it was something absolutely different than I had been used to till that time. After having tried the trial version, I decided to buy the full version of the application and I must say that the Czech proverb “When catching a bird, they sing nicely to it” does not apply at all in this case. Service and support I receive are really exemplary and I would strongly recommend some organizations to attend a paid training course by the authors of
Visual PHP. As I knew that with
Visual PHP and people around it I would never be left on my own, that designing presentations with this program was really the fun which I was looking forward to with all my heart every day and that I didn’t need to know programming better than on my amateur medium level and in spite of it I was able to do my work on a very complex and high professional level,
I had the courage to commence business activities in this branch in September this year
